The holidays are right around the corner and with Black Friday approaching, many of us are already thinking of what the best gift would be to give to a teacher or coworker.
I don’t know about you, but in the past, it has been HARD to think of a good gift to give to my kid’s teachers and the staff at my husband’s office.
You want to get them a gift they will enjoy, but you also want the gift to have a personal touch so they feel appreciated.
MY INSPIRATION FOR THE BEST GIFT TO GIVE A TEACHER OR COWORKER
A few years ago, my husband was working as an associate for an office and one of the offices that they referred to, the wife of the owner always gave out a “Favorite Things” gift to everyone at the offices they worked with.
I LOVED that idea and I immediately borrowed it and have been giving it to teachers and the staff at our office since then.
WHY A FAVORITE THINGS GIFT IS PERFECT FOR TEACHERS AND COWORKERS
- It feels really unique and personal. It’s not some random mug that you picked up last minute from Target!
- It’s exciting! Who doesn’t love discovering new products that are awesome??
- It’s very versatile as far as price goes. You can really go all in and spend a lot or you can make this very budget friendly.
- It’s a no brainer, meaning you don’t really have to stress about what you are going to get. You know every year what you loved and all you have to do is re-purchase your favorite things
SOME SUGGESTIONS FOR FAVORITE THINGS GIFTS
- Books: Are you a reader? If you are, go back through the list of books you read this year and pick your favorite to gift.
- Skincare Products: This one can be somewhat tricky because everyone’s skin is different, but I have found that people really love trying travel size skincare products.
- Tea: Especially during the winter, everyone loves a hot cup of tea. Bonus if you can pick a tea that comes in a beautiful container!
- A Product From A Local Business: Do you have any cute boutiques in your town that you love to shop at? Most of these boutiques have earrings, socks, hair accessories, or other little bits and bobs that you can buy to add to your gift.
- Cosmetics: Again, this one can be tricky since everyone has such different skin tones and makeup preferences. A travel size lip gloss, blush, or mascara is an excellent option that most people will be thrilled to try.
- Food: Everyone loves to eat! Unfortunately, since so many people have many different allergies and diet preferences, you may choose to not include a food item. But if you know that the person you are giving to does not have any issues receiving a food item, this is a great option.
- A Fitness /Health Related Item: We should always be focusing on improving our health, but sometimes the arrival of the new year is a big motivator for people to re-commit to their health. Things like protein powder samples, a trial class to your favorite fitness studio, or a gift card for some fitness clothing are excellent ideas for this gift.
The finishing touch for any gift is to wrap it beautifully. Nowadays, there are so many gorgeous wrapping papers and bags.
My personal favorite for wrapping paper and bags is Rifle Paper Co. Grab a cute gift bag and then use some beautiful ribbon to embellish the items in your gift!
WHAT’S IN MY FAVORITE THINGS GIFT THIS YEAR
- Rifle Paper Co Cosmetics Bag: Rifle Paper Co is one of my favorite brands, so this year, I bought a cosmetics bag for the gift. I liked that this particular print wasn’t too over the top because I know florals aren’t everyone’s favorite.
- The Women by Kristin Hannah: I read this book this year and absolutely loved it. I don’t think you can go wrong with an excellent page turner like this one!
- Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb in the shade Fu$$y: This is the perfect lip gloss that looks good on everyone!
- Hu Kitchen Chocolate: This chocolate is super clean, meaning it has no soy lecithin, palm oil or refined sugar. Such a great chocolate if you are avoiding major allergens
I hope you got some ideas for how you can make your teacher and coworker gifts more personal this year. I would love to hear what you would include in a favorite things gift! Please share in the comments of this post!
Happy shopping and happy gifting!
